Thembi's Backyard GTR Ultra Run

Last year, we got Thembi to the Big Dog Backyard Ultra World Champs in Tennessee, America. He set a new SA record and put up a great performance.
This year he is already in full training mode as he prepares for the SA Teams Champs event that will be held on 19 October 2024.
Once again, we will host a backyard-ultra-style event in support, and we will hopefully be celebrating Thembi retaining his SA champ status.
To make it more inclusive there will be two lap distances on offer. The normal 6.7km and a 4.5km option to be completed within an hour. There will also be a distance challenge for the month of October.
Event Concept:
This will be a fun event and is not part of an official Backyard Ultra race. This will also be part of a distance challenge for the month of October. Set your own distance goals for the month
On the weekend of 13-15 October, we will host a Backyard ultra stile event to help you achieve your goals
Each lap is 6.7km or 4.5km in distance and will be on mixed surfaces.
The laps will start on the hour each hour, with the first lap starting at 18h00 on Friday 25 October 2024. You may join for as many laps as you like until Sunday 13h00. The aim will be to complete consecutive laps, but we will also allow gaps between laps. You will also have the option to start your first lap on the hour any time during the weekend. If you start with the 6.7km lap and fail to finish within an hour you may continue with the 4.5km lap. Prize giving will take place on Sunday at 15h00 and you must be present to win prizes!
